Because rolling a ring only radially produces certain defects on the top and bottom ring faces, Wagner had developed a cost-effective solution for those customers who wish to minimize or eliminate these defects. Our axial retaining unit is integrated with one of the centering arms, this keeps the top and bottom faces of the ring as flat as possible, reducing fish mouth. It also makes the ring corners razor sharp. |

Axial Retaining Unit |
The axial retaining unit is available in either a driven or non-driven unit. The driven unit increases the range of available size cross sections that can be rolled and provide some height reduction capability. The unit is available as an upgrade for an existing radial only mill or as an option on a new machine. The unit can also be removed in the event the machine is upgraded to a full radial/axial ring rolling mill.
