The radial/axial ring mill is by far the most popular choice of most forge shops. By adding the axial stand to our radial ring mill, it is possible to roll a ring radially and axially at the same time. Surface defects on the top and bottom ring faces are eliminated.
It is also possible to decrease the height of the ring while rolling the outer diameter larger. Rolling radially and axially is proven to be the best method in terms of production rate and product quality.
Radial/Axial (RAW) ring mills come in a variety of sizes and power levels. Machine size depends on the type of ring you intend to roll. Our most popular machines are what we call "square" machines that have identical radial and axial force and drive power.
Standard RAW mills come with one axial driven roll, with an optional second axial driven roll. It all depends on our customers needs.
