Expanded metal sheets are similar to perforated sheets, although expanded metal can be manufactured without production of scrap. Since the production method for expanded metal is completely different, the presses can reach speeds of up to 1800 rev/min, with the same tolerances as for perforating presses.

Applications for this kind of material can also be found in the architectural, industrial, and consumer goods businesses.
