Control And Operation

Split-second safety stop

Even at 150 strokes per minute, the hydraulic clutch/brake combination stops the machine dead within 1/4 of a crankshaft revolution.

That's an important feature, because even the most sophisticated monitoring systems are no help if the machine doesn't stop fast enough in an emergency.

These functions are protected and monitored:

Cut-off length
Shearing slide drive
Transfer grippers, individually
Gripper heads, individually
Feeler heads on punch flicker, individually
Die ejector levers, individually
Punch ejector levers, individually
HYDROBLOCK clamping and centering system
Motor current
Main motor and auxiliary motors
Hydraulic system (pressure, temperature)
Compressed air
Lube oil level
Lube oil distribution
Sliding door to die area, service doors
Operating mode selector switch
Cooling system
Optional: Bearing temperature and press load monitoring

Operator computer

Enables the operator to store settings of repeat jobs for call-up later when the jobs are 'on' again. The screen provides continuous information on the operating status and reports trouble in plain text.

Standard Equipment
PLC Control and noise abatement cabin are standard equipment. The installation runs fully automatically, monitors itself, and keeps the operator continuously informed of the operating status at the control desk and on the screen.
Control station with control desk and operator computer. The screen reports the operating status continuously and calls attention to irregularities in plain text.

High-Precision

High-precision control and monitoring with angle encoder. Thanks to the digital detection of the machine's movements by the angle encoder, the control system knows the machine's position according to the timing diagram to within 1 degree at all times.

Which is why, for example, the machine always stops at the right position, regardless of the operating speed. The control system automatically compensates for the overrun angle, which is larger or smaller, depending on speed.

In the event of an emergency stop, the system prevents the machine from stopping at forward dead center.

And it makes sure that critical functions -- such as cut-off dropping or adjustment of feed and cut-off lengths -- are always performed at the correct time.

It also monitors the gripper opening and closing timing and stops the machine automatically if they fail to open or close when they should.

And for changeovers, the machine automatically assumes various setting positions.

Cut-off length and feed length settings can be stored for repeat jobs, called up by entering the job number, and reset automatically by hydraulic servomotors.
