One Operator System |
One operator supervises the whole system, checks part quality, changes tools, and sets up. Most Hotmatics today are equipped with ESA Control. They run fully automatically, monitor themselves, stop in the event of trouble or give a warning of possible trouble, and indicate on the control desk precisely what's going on.
The desk, with all controls and indicators, is swivel-mounted and can be used conveniently from either side of the machine.
Operator errors are virtually impossible, because all important controls are electrically interlocked.
During setup the machine can be jogged slowly in either direction with the clutch engaged; a separate standstill brake stops the jogging motion dead to prevent overrun resulting from pitman inertia.

Tool Changing: |
The tool block with the practical clamp caps makes tool changing quick and easy. To change tools, just unscrew the clamp caps and remove them, lift out the punch and die packs, replace them, clamp the new tools with the caps and you're back in business. Even cracked dies can be removed without any problem. |
Split-second Safety Stop |
For instance, if a part sticks to a punch, the punch flickers stop the machine dead -- before the tools can jam.
All important functions have both mechanical and electrical safety devices. If an overload or malfunction occurs, the machine is instantly stopped by the electropneumatic clutch and brake. |
