The Method: |
You make a pre-form on the Hotmatic and finish-form it on a Coldformer.
For instance this ball joint housing for the front wheel suspension of passenger cars. The pre-form is made on a Hotmatic AMP 30S - at 140 per minute. These blanks are sandblasted, phosphate coated, then finish-formed on a vertical Coldformer, and finally trimmed inside and out. After being case hardened the finished parts are ready for assembly. |
