Reason 1 -- Shearing System |
The Coldmatic is the only progressive coldformer with a high-speed shearing system. The cut-offs are more accurate, with only half the volume variation you get from conventional shearing systems. Benefit: Precise cut-offs result in extra-precise finished parts.

Reason 2 -- Well-filled Parts |
The extra-wide crankshaft and H-shaped pitman support the forming load over the entire width of the five forming stations. So even a completely off-balance load distribution cannot affect the accuracy of tool alignment. Benefit: Evenly filled parts.

Reason 3 -- Ultra-precise Guides |
The main slide has ultra-precise guides for concentric parts. There's a lot less play because of this. A high-pressure lube system forces so much oil into the guideways that even this play is practically neutralized. This results in a greater accuracy for the parts manufactured.

Reason 4 -- Patented Transfer System |
No slipping, no sliding -- everything turns on pivots -- hardly any play at all. The parts are always perfectly centered in front of the dies. This improves concentricity.

Reason 5 -- No Need to Square-up Cutoffs |
Since you don't have to upset the blanks, you have more capacity for the actual metalforming. Our Coldmatic lets you use all five forming stations to give your part exactly the right shape.

Reason 6 -- Forming Capability |
There is a consistent forming capability in punches and dies. If a sequence requires forming a part at both ends, you can put a die on the punch side and vice versa. There is no need for turnaround grippers when forming both ends.

Reason 7 -- Eject Any Way You Like |
You can eject right after the slide reaches front dead center -- or, with a slight delay, into the closed grippers. Alternatively, you can <fix> a part in front of the die, supported between punch and die ejectors, or eject straight out of the punch and into the grippers. You always have the parts under full mechanical control throughout the forming process.

Reason 8 -- Good Grip on Parts |
Our Coldmatic's patented grippers return during the forming operation -- up and over the punches -- so they're ready to pick up parts much earlier. Even short parts are firmly under control. The same goes for tapered or stepped parts that tip over when ejected.
