OPERATION

Peace and quiet on the shop floor
The Coldmatic comes with a noise abatement cabin as standard equipment, which fully encloses the machine and cuts the noise level to below 85 dB(A). It has a large angular sliding door with a safety glass window to the die area. A number of service doors provide access to the machine for setup and maintenance.

Clean Air Act and Safety
It's a good idea to order the oil mist exhaust (optional), which sucks off the oil mist from evaporating cooling lubricant and cleans it in an electrostatic separator.

Even at 210 strokes a minute, the electropneumatic clutch/brake combination stops the machine before the tools can be damaged.

For instance, two proximity switches monitor the opening and closing of each gripper. Another proximity switch checks the transfer motion. Each ejector lever is protected by a shear bolt and a proximity switch.

And the cut-off length monitor prevents undersize blanks from entering the forming process.

Visualization
The operator controls the whole installation on a console with a touch screen and a few keys. The big color screen shows the operating conditions clearly using text and graphics. All of the operating parameters and the settings for individual jobs can be stored and called up as needed.

Digital position detection with an absolute shaft encoder tells the control system the machine's position on the s-t diagram to within 1 degree at all times. So the machine always stops at just the right position regardless of the momentary speed. It also stores position settings for changeovers.

Setup, Operation, and Maintenance
Get your setup right from the start by recording the settings for repeat jobs on setting sheets.

Complete manuals for operation, setup and maintenance come with every Coldmatic.
