The stacker crane installation and run-off has been completed and crane is in full prudction.  The crane is part of a SMS Meer Wagner Banning ring roling line.  The stacker crane automatically picks up of a conveyor and places on cooling racks.  This entire process is automated with the crane PLC transmitting data with palnt network to tell crane where to place ring.

Girard Engineering is has competed the start-up and integration of an ABB IRB4600 robot to place spacer blocks on rolled rings.  The rolled rings are coming off of a SMS Meer Wagner Banning ring mill.  The spacer blocks are placed on rolled ring prior to being picked up and place by Girard supplier stacker crace.

Tim Owen has retunred to Girard Engineering, Tim is returning to his role as a project engineer.

Girard Engineeirng was awarded an electrical control projects for upgrade and modernizing a heat treat line charging crane.  The upgrade includes all new electrical controls utilizing an Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC as well as replacing all of the crane motors and drives.  The exisitng DC motors will be replaced with modern AC motors.  This upgrade will take the crane from a manual system to a semi-automatic system reducing operator input and control.
