Rolled Ring Stacker Crane

Girard Engineering is installing and commissioning any automated ring stacker crane.  This system will utilize a Glama 16-ton ring tong with an automated crane to pick rolled rings off of exit conveyor and place onto one of six cooling tables.  This system will completely automated with the plant network sending and receiving ring data.

1200-ton Hydraulic Press Manifold Upgrade

Girard Engineering is upgrading the existing 6000psi main press manifold.  This new manifold will feature proportional valve control for all phase of operation, including forge, return, fast approach and decompression.  In addition to controlling the press, this new manifold will control the press die train and die locks.

Heat Treat Robot

A new ABB IRB4600 robot will be installed on a ring rolling line.  This robot will be placed at the end of an exit conveyor and will place spacer blocks on the rolled rings before the stacker crane picks up the rolled rings.  As part of our scope of supply is the robot, end-of-arm-tooling, safety fencing, Feedall automatic spacer block delivery system, and integration into ring rolling line.

Electrical Control for a new Upsetter

Girard is designing, building, and programming a dual Allen Bradley Compact Logix PLC system capable of controlling an upsetter machine.

Mechanical Modernization of 40's Era Homemade Radial-Axial Ringmill

Girard is designing, building, and installing mechanical modifications to bring a 1940's era up to modern ring rolling capabilities.

Heat Treat Charging Machine Upgrade

Girard will be modernizing an IOB heat treat line charging manipulator.  As part of our scope of supply we will be installing a new Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC, new AC drives and motors, as well as position monitoring system.  When completed the new control system will require less operator intervention as it will have a semi-automatic control scheme.
